White House Spox Fires Back at Newsom: 'Worst Governor in America, Maybe the Dumbest'
White House spokesperson Davis Ingle fired back on Oct. 6 at California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who had called President Trump “deranged and dangerous” over his remarks about Iran: “Gavin Newscum is the worst governor in America, and he also may be the dumbest.”
Trump said at a Nebraska campaign rally on Oct. 5 that Iran could “take out a city — let them take out Los Angeles, take out San Diego, for world safety, for national safety, it's a small price.” Newsom blasted the remarks on social media, accusing the president of encouraging attacks on more than 10 million Americans; Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass called the remarks “dangerous,” and Democratic gubernatorial nominee Xavier Becerra said “thirteen million Californians' lives are not a ‘small price to pay.’” (Via NY Post, Reuters; per GSM standards, the rally remarks are filed under Social Hot Topics, the White House spokesperson's official response under White House)
