Alabama Monitoring Tropical Weather, No Plans to Reschedule Georgia Game

The University of Alabama said on October 6 that it is closely monitoring tropical weather in the Gulf but has no plans to reschedule its highly anticipated football game against Georgia. The statement came as forecasters tracked a tropical system that could affect the Southeast later in the week.
The Alabama-Georgia matchup is one of the marquee games of the college football season, with major playoff implications and a sold-out Bryant-Denny Stadium expected in Tuscaloosa. University officials said they are in contact with emergency management and weather services and will update fans if conditions change.
The National Weather Service said the tropical system bears watching but that its exact track and intensity remain uncertain. Fans traveling to Tuscaloosa are advised to monitor forecasts and allow extra travel time.
Kickoff remains scheduled as planned. The university said the safety of fans, players, and staff is the top priority.
