Early Voting Begins Across New Mexico

Early voting began across New Mexico on October 6, with county clerks opening polling sites for the four-week early voting period ahead of the November general election, KSFR and the Las Cruces Sun-News reported. Voters can cast ballots in person at county clerk offices and designated early voting locations.
This year's New Mexico ballot includes races for the U.S. House, statewide offices, and a slate of judicial retention elections, along with local bond questions in several counties. Secretary of State's office said it expects steady turnout, with expanded early voting hours in the final week.
New Mexico allows same-day voter registration during early voting, and voters can also request absentee ballots by mail. Election officials reminded voters to check their registration status and bring identification.
County clerks across the state reported smooth openings on the first day, with voters in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Las Cruces among the first in line.
