Nevada ACA Premiums to Rise About 17% in 2027 as Preview Period Opens

Nevadans shopping on the Affordable Care Act marketplace will see average premiums rise about 17% in 2027, the Reno Gazette Journal reported around October 6, as the preview period for open enrollment began October 5. The increase is among the steepest in recent years and reflects rising health care costs nationwide.
State officials said the expiration of enhanced federal premium subsidies — unless Congress extends them — is a major driver of the increase, along with higher hospital and prescription drug costs. Nevada Health Link, the state's ACA exchange, is urging consumers to shop carefully during open enrollment, noting that many enrollees can lower costs by switching plans.
Consumer advocates warned that without extended subsidies, some middle-income Nevadans could see their monthly premiums double. The state's Division of Insurance said it reviewed and approved the rates after finding them justified by claims data.
Open enrollment runs from November 1 through mid-January. State officials are conducting outreach in both English and Spanish to make sure consumers understand their options.
