Former Waurika City Manager Pleads Guilty, Sentenced to 20 Years in Child Sex Abuse Material Case

Former Waurika city manager Charles Kyote Dunn pleaded guilty on October 6 and was sentenced to 20 years in prison on charges related to child sexual abuse material, News9 reported. The case shocked the small southern Oklahoma town where Dunn had served as a top municipal official.
Prosecutors said investigators discovered the illegal material on Dunn's electronic devices during an investigation that began earlier this year. Dunn resigned from his city manager post after his arrest.
At the plea hearing, the judge accepted Dunn's guilty plea and imposed the 20-year sentence. Prosecutors said the sentence reflects the seriousness of crimes against children and the breach of public trust by a government official.
Waurika city officials said they have cooperated fully with the investigation and have appointed an interim city manager. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation assisted in the case.
