Lang Lang Plays Solo Recital Tonight at Walt Disney Concert Hall

Pianist Lang Lang was scheduled to give a solo recital at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 8 p.m., one of the headline events of the hall's opening week for the 2026/27 season, according to the LA Phil's season listing.
The wide-ranging program paired Mozart's Rondo in D major, K. 485, with Beethoven's 'Pathétique' Sonata and Sonata No. 31 in the first half, then turned to Spain after intermission: selections from Albéniz's 'Suite española,' Granados' 'Quejas, o la maja y el ruiseñor' from 'Goyescas,' and a close with Liszt's Consolation No. 2 and the Tarantella from 'Venezia e Napoli.'
Lang Lang is a Disney Hall regular whose recitals routinely sell out. The hall's October calendar remained star-heavy, with Yuja Wang having completed a three-night stand on Oct. 2-4 and Italian pianist Ludovico Einaudi scheduled to appear on Oct. 9.
Walt Disney Concert Hall, designed by Frank Gehry and opened in 2003, is a downtown Los Angeles landmark whose acoustics rank among the world's finest. Lang Lang has a long history with the hall, scheduling recitals there on nearly every Los Angeles visit. This performance is a single solo evening with no orchestra — the entire night's narrative carried by one pianist.
The orchestra said the concentrated opening-month schedule was designed to let local audiences sample the season's main threads within weeks, with tickets for later dates still on sale.
