DOJ Sues 40 Naturalized Citizens in Largest Single Denaturalization Push

The U.S. Department of Justice announced on Oct. 5 that it has filed civil denaturalization suits against 40 naturalized citizens in federal courts, with complaints submitted between Aug. 21 and Oct. 2. Attorney General Todd Blanche called it the largest single batch filed under this administration.
The DOJ alleges the defendants concealed material facts or made false statements when naturalizing, with individual allegations ranging from acting as foreign-government agents and murder to sexual assault, money laundering and marriage fraud.
Denaturalization requires a court finding that citizenship was illegally procured or materially concealed. All cases are at the complaint stage; no judgments have been issued. (GSM, compiled from the DOJ release and AP reporting)
