SpaceX Plans $40B Raise to Buy Nvidia Chips in Apollo-Led Deal

SpaceX plans to raise about $40 billion to buy Nvidia SI chips in a financing arranged by Apollo Global Management, the Financial Times reported on Oct. 6, with Reuters following the same day.
The package reportedly combines about $10 billion in bank loans with $30 billion in investment-grade bonds; PIMCO is among the lenders in talks, and closing is expected in 2027. Elon Musk has said xAI's Colossus 2 data center could more than double its Nvidia chip count by December.
SpaceX, Apollo and Nvidia declined to comment; PIMCO also declined. SpaceX shares slipped about 1% after hours on the news while Nvidia gained roughly 0.5%. (GSM, from Reuters reporting)
