Kacey Musgraves Plays Austin's Moody Center Tonight in ACL Festival Week
Country star Kacey Musgraves was scheduled to perform at Austin's Moody Center on Wednesday, Oct. 7, according to SeatGeek's Austin concert calendar — a marquee arena date falling in the 'between weekends' window of the Austin City Limits Music Festival, when arena-level shows keep the city's live calendar full.
The Moody Center, located by the University of Texas at Austin campus, is the city's largest indoor venue and a regular stop for major tours. Musgraves, a Texas-born Grammy winner known for visually ambitious, narrative-driven shows, ranked among the week's top local ticket sellers.
Austin's mid-festival week was unusually dense: Jack White played the Moody Amphitheater on Oct. 6, and ACL's second weekend was set for Oct. 9-11 at Zilker Park, with Kings of Leon and The xx among the closing headliners.
Musgraves' live shows are known for a 'space country' aesthetic — starfield lighting and retro-futurist staging are her touring signatures. Moody Center officials noted that during ACL weeks the city's hotels and venues run at full capacity simultaneously, the most visible proof of Austin's 'Live Music Capital of the World' title.
