Brewers Knock Out Padres 3-1, Face Dodgers in NLCS Rematch

The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Padres 3-1 in San Diego on Wednesday night to win the NL Division Series three games to one and advance to the National League Championship Series, where they will face the Los Angeles Dodgers, the defending champions who swept them a year ago.
Jackson Chourio delivered the go-ahead single in the fifth, and in the eighth Garrett Mitchell leaped at the center-field wall to rob Manny Machado of a game-tying two-run homer. Aaron Ashby threw three hitless relief innings for the win; Fernando Tatis Jr.'s third-inning solo shot was San Diego's only run.
The NLCS opens Sunday, Oct. 11 in Milwaukee, with Games 3-5 in Los Angeles starting Oct. 14. Milwaukee won a majors-best 103 games; the Dodgers counter with Shohei Ohtani and the league's deepest roster. (GSM, from Reuters and USA Today reporting)
