CBS's Thursday Lineup Returns Tonight With New Drama 'Cupertino' Headlining Premieres
CBS's Thursday primetime block returned in full on Oct. 8, headlined by the series premiere of the new drama 'Cupertino,' according to TheWrap's 2026 fall TV premiere calendar. The same night brought the premiere of 'Eternally Yours,' new seasons of 'Elsbeth' and the 'Young Sheldon' spinoff 'Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage,' and the fall return of the long-running daytime drama 'The Young and the Restless.'
NBC fielded its own Thursday staples the same night, with 'Law & Order' and 'Law & Order: SVU' both on the Oct. 8 slate. Broadcast networks traditionally concentrate their strongest scripted lineups on Thursdays, historically advertisers' most prized night for television.
The second week of October marks the broadcast season reaching full strength: CBS's 'NCIS' franchise, including the new spinoff 'NCIS: New York,' returned Oct. 6, while NBC's Chicago series and ABC's 'Abbott Elementary' came back Oct. 7. After Thursday night, every network's flagship lineup was in place.
