EVUS Fee Rises to $31.75 on Oct. 16 for PRC Passport Holders With 10-Year U.S. Visitor Visas

Starting Oct. 16, 2026, U.S. Customs and Border Protection will charge $31.75 for Electronic Visa Update System (EVUS) enrollment, up $1 from $30.75, under the FY 2027 inflation adjustment to fees required by HR-1. The rule applies to travelers holding a passport issued by the People's Republic of China together with an unrestricted, maximum-validity 10-year B1, B2 or B1/B2 visa. It covers people who already hold such visas as well as future recipients; a 10-year visa and a current EVUS enrollment are separate requirements.
EVUS is not a new visa and approval does not guarantee admission, which remains a CBP officer's decision at the port of entry. An enrollment is generally valid for two years, or until the passport or visa expires, whichever comes first. After getting a new passport, travelers should complete a new EVUS enrollment before their next U.S. trip; if the still-valid visa is in the old passport, they can enter both the new passport and old-visa details in EVUS rather than applying for a new visa.
GSM service note: check your status through the official evus.gov site before departure. Most enrollments are answered within minutes, but some can take up to 72 hours, and CBP recommends applying at least a week ahead. Do not submit passport and visa details to unofficial paid sites.
