Two Redondo Beach Sites Placed Under Ocean Water Warnings Over Bacteria Levels
Redondo Beach is a city in Los Angeles County, California. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has issued an ocean water warning advising people to avoid the water near the Redondo Beach Pier and at Sapphire Street in Redondo Beach. Recent water samples showed bacterial levels exceeding state health standards, which may increase the risk of illness. The warning covers 100 yards up and down the coast from each of the two locations. The department advised avoiding swimming, surfing and playing in the water, and said beachgoers can call the county beach hotline at 800-525-5662 for the latest water quality information.
