Texas Launches 'Texas Express' Fast Lane for Business Filings With Same-Day Processing
Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced on Oct. 8 that the Secretary of State's upgraded online portal now offers an expedited filing option called "Texas Express," with business documents processed as fast as the same or next day. With the upgrade, more document types can be filed online, including business mergers and entity conversions, without mailing paper forms or traveling to the capital. The governor's office said Texas now has more than 3.2 million active business entities, up from about 1.4 million in 2015 — more than doubling in a decade.
