[Video] Shen Teng's 'Welcome to the Dragon Restaurant' Opens in North America Oct. 9 After ¥2.19B China Run
"Welcome to the Dragon Restaurant," directed by Wen Muye, supervised by Ning Hao and starring Shen Teng, Jiang Qiming and Aarif Lee, opened in North American theaters on October 9. In mainland China the film has grossed more than ¥2.188 billion, becoming the top-grossing war film of 2026 there, with a 9.7 rating on Maoyan.
Shen Teng plays Xu Fu, a chef from northeast China who travels to the Middle East to work off family debts, running a quiet Chinese restaurant with dining-room manager Ma Junsheng (Jiang Qiming). When war suddenly breaks out, the ordinary people around the restaurant are forced into choices about friendship, duty and conscience.
Wen Muye previously directed "Dying to Survive" and "Nice View," and is known for building his stories around the choices of ordinary people. (GSM, based on distributor materials and public reports)
