Air Supply Gets Its Hollywood Walk of Fame Star After 50 Years; Pat Sajak Makes Rare Appearance

On October 8, Australian soft-rock legends Air Supply received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, with members Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock attending the unveiling. Retired Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak made a rare public appearance to speak, joined by hit producer David Foster.
Sajak, a longtime friend of the duo, compared their run to his own: after hosting one show for more than four decades, he said he understands how hard it is not to wear out your welcome — yet Air Supply, together for over 50 years, still tour the world and give full effort at every show. Sajak hosted his final Wheel of Fortune episode in June 2024 after 41 seasons and has rarely appeared in public since, making his presence a highlight of the ceremony.
Formed in Australia in 1975, Air Supply made ballads such as "All Out of Love" and "Making Love Out of Nothing at All" into standards; their songs are just as familiar to Chinese-speaking audiences, for many of whom they were a first introduction to English-language love songs. Still touring in their seventies, the pair now have official recognition for a half-century on stage. The new star sits on Hollywood Boulevard, free for the public to visit.
