JJ Lin Headlines Singapore GP Padang Stage, Gives New English Single 'Rise Without a Sound' Its World Premiere

On the night of October 9, Singaporean singer-songwriter JJ Lin headlined the Padang Stage (Zone 4) at the 2026 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix, closing the first night's main-stage programme alongside K-pop group CORTIS. The Grand Prix ran October 9–11 at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, and Lin's slot was part of the entertainment line-up officially announced by race promoter Singapore GP — a homecoming performance in his native Singapore.
According to production details released by his company JFJ Productions, the show took nearly six months to prepare and assembled a global team of about 100 people, including 16 international dancers, overseas musicians and a creative team, with choreography led by Nick DeMoura, who previously worked on Justin Bieber's tours. The 20-song set was almost entirely rearranged and structured in four chapters — "Ignition," "Night Drive," "Emotional Ascent" and "New Era" — opening with "The Show," his collaboration with DJ Steve Aoki, followed by songs including "No. 89757," "Sanctuary" and "Cao Cao." For "Bedroom," his duet with British singer Anne-Marie, he brought out labelmate Jasmine Sokko as a surprise partner. A piano segment took audience requests, with Lin accompanying himself on "She Says," "Remember," "Smiling Eyes" and "If Only." Three costume changes and large-scale fireworks completed the production.
The night's biggest moment was the world premiere of his new English single "Rise Without a Sound," released globally at midnight on October 10. Lin wrote the lyrics himself and described the song's core as "calm, faith and rebirth"; its chorus line, "We were always meant to rise without a sound," speaks of standing firm in silence. He said he treated the show as a "mini sequel" to his JJ20 tour and hid elements of a new album planned for 2027 inside the stage design. A longtime Formula 1 fan, he called performing at a Grand Prix a long-held dream, naming Ferrari as his team and Ayrton Senna as his racing hero. The show closed with "Little Big Us" and an encore of "One Thousand Years Later." (GSM, based on Singapore GP's official entertainment line-up and materials released by JFJ Productions)
