South Carolina: Adeptus USA to Invest $215.56 Million in First State Plant, Creating 217 Jobs

South Carolina announced on September 30 that wood products manufacturer Adeptus USA has selected Anderson County for its first operation in the state, a $215.56 million investment expected to create 217 new jobs. The facility, at a previously closed industrial site in Honea Path, will process pine into value-added products such as painted and primed moulding, boards, shiplap and panel products for building and millwork uses, with operations expected to begin in the second quarter of 2027. The state's Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits tied to the project and awarded Anderson County an $850,000 Closing Fund grant to help with building improvements. Governor Henry McMaster said the company's decision reflects the strength of South Carolina's workforce and manufacturing capabilities. Workforce firm HTI will support hiring during the startup phase, with openings posted as they become available.
