Arizona Forms Steering Committee to Compete for U.S. Space Academy

Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs announced on October 9 the creation of the Arizona U.S. Space Academy Steering Committee to lead the state's bid to host the proposed United States Space Academy and prepare a proposal for NASA.
Members include the governor, former Air Force Secretary Barbara Barrett and Arizona State University space-futures leader Laurie Leshin, along with university, industry and community representatives. The state says its research base, aerospace industry, workforce and available land make it a strong candidate. (Source: Office of the Arizona Governor)
