Colorado Governor Takes Executive Action on Fuel Prices

Colorado Governor Jared Polis signed executive action on October 9 aimed at high fuel costs facing drivers, farmers and ranchers. The administration cited average prices of about $4.18 per gallon for gasoline and $6.21 for diesel in Colorado.
The order directs transportation officials to permit compliant trucks to carry more fuel on state highways, pauses state enforcement actions tied solely to dyed diesel on highways through December 31, 2026, and asks state environmental officials to seek a federal waiver of summer 2027 reformulated gasoline requirements.
