FSA Temporarily Removes Borrower Defense Function for Schools After System Move

Federal Student Aid, part of the U.S. Department of Education, said in an Oct. 9 update that the school-facing borrower defense function was temporarily removed from FSA Partner Connect after a problem was found following the system's Oct. 4 transition. Schools currently cannot access the function while FSA works on a fix.
FSA said response deadlines for affected borrower-defense notifications will be extended, and schools do not need to act until further guidance is issued. Borrower information remains available through the borrower defense pages on StudentAid.gov.
