Kings of Leon Return to Austin City Limits Headline Slot After 13 Years, Debut New Single 'My Whole World' With String Section

On October 10, American rock band Kings of Leon headlined the 2026 Austin City Limits Music Festival at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas — the band's first return to the ACL stage since 2013.
The landmark set was elevated by a full live string section. The band brought acclaimed violinist Kristin Weber (of 'Strings of Leon,' who played on the new record) on stage for the fan-favorite 'Back Down South,' then wove 'The Bronx' into a tribute medley of Texas country icon George Strait's 'Amarillo By Morning,' drawing a massive singalong.
The centerpiece of the evening was a sweeping live rendition of the band's new single 'My Whole World,' taken from their upcoming tenth studio album 'O My Beloved,' due November 6 via Love Tap Records and distributed by Virgin Music. Critics have praised the single for showcasing the band's evolved lyrical depth.
Frontman Caleb Followill introduced Weber to the crowd, noting she played on the new record. The orchestration added dramatic depth to the band's signature anthemic sound — and offered a preview of the new album's sonic direction.
Austin City Limits is one of America's longest-running music festivals, and Kings of Leon's return to its headline slot stands as one of this year's defining rock moments.
