Oregon Proclaims Community Bank Week Honoring Local Lenders

Saturday, October 10, 2026 · States · GSM News

Oregon Governor Tina Kotek has proclaimed October 19-23, 2026, as Community Bank Week, recognizing local banks for supporting households, small businesses and community development. The state says community banks operate more than 110 branches and loan offices and provide 2,365 jobs in Oregon.

Officials said community banks make more than half of bank loans to small businesses and are sometimes the only local financial institution in rural areas. Banks plan customer-appreciation events, service projects, food drives and financial education activities during the week.
