Lynwood's Measure L Proposes New 12% Hotel Tax Projected at $751,000 a Year

Lynwood is a city in Los Angeles County, California. Lynwood's Measure L on the ballot would create a brand-new 12% tax on hotel and motel stays, projected to raise about $751,000 a year for crime prevention, anti-human-trafficking programs and street repairs. The city previously had no hotel tax, and the new tax would be paid by guests rather than local residents. Whether the measure passes is up to Lynwood voters in the election.
