Argentina to Raise Fees at 30 Airports: Domestic Airport Charge Set at $9, Taking Effect in 60 Days

Sunday, October 11, 2026 · World News · GSM News

BUENOS AIRES - Argentina's airport regulator ORSNA published Resolution 69/2026 resetting airport charges nationwide, with the new schedule entering into force 60 days after publication. The Buenos Aires Herald reported on October 11 that the increase covers 30 airports, including Buenos Aires' Ezeiza international hub and the city-centre Aeroparque, plus Cordoba and the Patagonian gateway of Bariloche, and is expected to push up domestic ticket prices, since airlines typically pass airport charges through to passengers.

According to Particle News' reading of the resolution, the domestic airport-use charge (TUA) for Group A airports is fixed at $9 per departing passenger, the Category I international TUA stays at $57, and a new regional TUA of $25.16 applies to flights up to 1,000 km, while a previous 30% landing and parking discount is folded into official rates. The TUA is collected at ticket purchase and converted to pesos at sale, so the change will show directly in fares.

The tariff reset is tied to a renegotiated concession extending Aeropuertos Argentina's operation of 35 airports to 2049, with an option to 2056, requiring proof of an additional $600 million in investment by the end of 2031. The company has also announced a $1.5 billion program for 2027-2031 to modernise Ezeiza, Aeroparque and more than 30 provincial terminals.

Industry groups are watching whether higher travel costs slow the recent growth in domestic demand as Argentina's aviation sector tries to expand routes and competition. The same period has seen low-cost pioneer Flybondi seek creditor protection after months grounded - underlining the turbulence in the country's airline market.
