Battlefield 6 Launches Oct. 10, Kicking Off a Packed October for Games

Oct. 10 — EA and DICE's military shooter 'Battlefield 6' officially launched Friday, firing the opening shot of what is shaping up to be an overloaded month for games.
October's release density is staggering: 'Absolum' and 'Painkiller' arrived Oct. 9, 'Little Nightmares 3' launched the same day as Battlefield 6, and still to come are 'Nascar 25' (Oct. 14), 'Pokemon Legends: Z-A' (Oct. 16), 'Ninja Gaiden 4' and 'Jurassic World Evolution 3' (Oct. 21), 'The Outer Worlds 2' (Oct. 29) and 'Arc Raiders' (Oct. 30) — roughly 40 new games across all major platforms this month.
This week's PlayStation 5 arrivals also include 'Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival,' 'Valor Mortis,' 'Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2' and 'DAVE THE DIVER: Complete Edition,' with horror and action titles clustering ahead of Halloween.
On the subscription side, October's PlayStation Plus Essential games are confirmed: F1 25, 'Hunt: Showdown' and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2, claimable Oct. 6 through Nov. 2. With 'GTA 6' absent from October, publishers are all rushing to fill the gap — and players' wallets and hard drives are about to be tested.
