Caterina's Club Annual Gala Raises $653,000 With 398 Supporters in Anaheim

Sunday, October 11, 2026 · Nonprofit · GSM News

Caterina's Club, the well-known Southern California children's charity, raised $653,000 at its annual gala on the evening of October 7 at the Highway 39 Event Center in Anaheim, drawing 398 supporters. Proceeds will fund the organization's 20,000 warm meals served to local children each week, help struggling families secure permanent housing, and prepare at-risk youth for careers in the hospitality industry.

Founded by Huntington Beach resident Sir Bruno Serato and named in honor of his mother Caterina, the nonprofit has spent years delivering hot dinners to children in need, later expanding into housing assistance and youth job training.

Evening highlights included a performance by Chloe DiPenta, an Orange County School of the Arts student and daughter of former professional hockey player and longtime supporter Joe DiPenta, whose two songs earned a standing ovation. The gala also honored Michael Hunn, Sue and Michael Cassidy, Simin Hashemizadeh, and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Bobbie Stovall. Serato said each honoree has shown consistent, heartfelt dedication to the children and families the nonprofit serves.

The organization has posted its fund-use plan at caterinasclub.org, with the next round of community meal deliveries and youth training programs launching within the month.
