LA Kings to Match Donations Up to $50,000 for Children's Hospital Los Angeles Halloween Card Drive

Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) has kicked off its beloved annual Halloween greeting card drive, and longtime supporter the NHL's LA Kings have pledged to donate $1 for every card sent by October 30, up to $50,000.
Taking part is simple: visit CHLA.org/Halloween, choose from three ready-to-color animal designs — a giraffe, a peacock, or an elephant — and write a personal message of encouragement. CHLA's Child Life team will print the cards and hand-deliver them to patients along with fun goodie bags. The hospital will also host its annual Pumpkin Party with games, arts and crafts, and costumes.
"Our annual Pumpkin Party reminds us that imagination and joy can flourish anywhere — even within hospital walls," said Carol Hamamoto, Director of Child Life and Expressive Arts and Therapies, and Volunteer Resources at CHLA. "We love bringing the excitement of Halloween directly to our patients and their families with costumes, games, and special goodie bags. The highlight for so many of our kids is receiving the thoughtful Halloween cards sent from around the world. Seeing the community come together in support of our families brings comfort, hope, and a sense of connection during their hospital stay."
The card portal closes October 30 — every card sent converts directly into a $1 donation.
