Miley to Play Two Sold-Out Hollywood Bowl Shows Oct. 16 and 18: First-Ever Appearance at the Iconic Venue

American pop star Miley will play two concerts in Los Angeles next week. According to USA Today's October 9 report, Miley will perform at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday, October 16 and Sunday, October 18 — her first-ever appearance on the legendary amphitheater's stage, a venue she says she has attended as an audience member but never played. Ticketmaster lists both shows as starting at 7:30 p.m., with Model/Actriz supporting, under the banner "Miley: Bass Persuades — Live at the Hollywood Bowl."

The concerts are Miley's first ticketed public shows in four years. Music outlet Consequence reports her last public performance was at Mexico City's Corona Capital festival in November 2022, and she has not mounted a full tour in more than a decade since the 2014 Bangerz tour. According to Hollywood Bowl organizers, more than 1.5 million people registered for the presale queue, and the roughly 18,000 seats for each night sold out quickly; resale tickets remain available (USA Today notes resale starting around $120 for the October 16 show).

The shows arrive alongside her new album. On September 18, Miley released "Bass Persuades," her tenth studio album — her first for Atlantic Records and her first released under the mononym Miley. Billboard data shows the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 61,000 equivalent album units, her first chart-topper since 2013's "Bangerz"; it then fell to No. 157 in its second week, which Variety reports is the biggest second-week drop ever for an album debuting at No. 1.

In an Apple Music interview with Zane Lowe that aired September 17, Miley explained her choice of venue: "I chose to do the show at the Bowl because I knew that my bed was only going to be like a 10-minute drive home." She called the two shows an "ultimate dress rehearsal," describing them as "proof of concept and potentially the beginning of something broader," hinting at a future residency-style model rather than a conventional tour.

Miley is a three-time Grammy Award winner known for hits including "Flowers," "Wrecking Ball," "The Climb," "Party in the U.S.A." and "We Can't Stop," with a catalog spanning pop, rock and country. (Sources: USA Today, Consequence, Parade, MusicTimes)
