Helluva Boss Panel Erupts at New York Comic Con as Brandon Rogers Blasts Heckler; Organizer Apologizes

On the night of Thursday, October 8, 2026, the Main Stage of New York City's Javits Center hosted the most explosive moment of this year's New York Comic Con — not a trailer reveal, but a full-blown onstage blowup. During the Helluva Boss panel, an audience member repeatedly shouted over the cast six times, prompting Brandon Rogers, the 38-year-old voice of Blitzo, to stand up and unleash a profanity-laced tirade. Video of the confrontation went viral, and the story was still trending through the weekend.

According to Page Six, the first interruption came as series creator Vivienne Medrano was addressing the crowd; she initially laughed it off with, "Thank you, good energy to start off." But the heckler kept shouting over the cast. Rogers finally rose to his feet and yelled: "You need to shut the f—k up right now. I swear to God I'm going to jump over this fence and end you. It's not cute." He then turned to event staff and demanded, "Isn't there someone in a vest? Bulletproof one, maybe?" Footage shows him walking to the front of the stage, ordering security to remove the attendee. When the heckler interrupted again as Vivian Nixon discussed motherhood, Rogers erupted once more: "Is anyone working at this f—ing event? Can someone please get this motherf—er the hell out of here?" A fan in attendance said the heckler was eventually escorted out.

The incident exploded online. On October 9, Rogers issued a statement to Entertainment Weekly: "Last night's panel was a celebration of Helluva Boss and the incredible community that supports it. When a disruption crosses the line from enthusiastic fandom into disrespecting my cast mates and ruining the experience for thousands of fans who waited hours to be there, I will always step in to protect that space." Organizer ReedPop also apologized to EW, admitting "the situation was addressed after the panel, action was not taken swiftly enough, and we apologize to the panelists, moderator, and fans in attendance," adding that steps would be taken to handle future incidents faster.

Helluva Boss, the hit adult animated series on Prime Video created by Medrano, commands a huge young fan base. The panel also featured Erica Lindbeck, Bryce Pinkham, Harvey Guillén, Richard Steven Horvitz and moderator Perri Nemiroff. The episode has reignited debate over convention security: how organizers balance free expression with keeping panels orderly at mega-events remains a hot topic.
