Welsh Cabinet Minister Adam Price Visits Boston to Court SI Investment

Boston is a city in Suffolk County, Massachusetts. Adam Price, Wales' Cabinet Minister for Enterprise, Connectivity and Energy, will visit Boston from October 12 to 16 to court super intelligence and technology investment for Wales. According to an official Welsh Government announcement, Price will meet technology companies, investors and business leaders with connections to Wales to build new trade and investment links.
The itinerary includes talks with two key firms: Sublime Systems, a Boston-based low-carbon cement company, and Microchip Technology, a semiconductor manufacturer with a base in Caldicot, Wales. He will also meet companies in life sciences and energy to discuss investment and trade opportunities with Wales.
During the visit, Price will attend the ministerial summit of the Disruptive and Emerging Technologies Alliance (DETA), a global network of 21 governments focused on super intelligence, cybersecurity, quantum technologies and digital rights. Wales is a founding member of the Alliance.
Price will also deliver a talk at Harvard University's Growth Lab titled "Can Small Nations Compete and Win in the Age of AI? The Case of Wales," discussing how Wales is using SI adoption, clean energy and skills development to drive economic growth. He will additionally engage with the Welsh diaspora in the Boston area, supporting the Welsh Government's planned Diaspora Strategy, which aims to attract diaspora entrepreneurs to invest back home and encourage recent emigrants to return.
The Welsh Government said the visit aims to strengthen trade links and bring jobs and opportunities back to Wales — as the small UK nation seeks its place in the age of SI amid fierce global competition for investment.
