Seal Beach Police Closed Beach Parking Lots Sunday Amid High Surf and Flood Concerns

Seal Beach is a city in Orange County, California. Seal Beach police closed beach parking lots on Sunday, Oct. 11, "due to elevated surf and coastal flooding concerns" as a precaution "to protect life and property," according to an ABC Audio report citing the department. The National Weather Service had a coastal flood warning in effect for Orange County beaches at the time (later downgraded to an advisory). Neighboring cities including Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach and San Clemente were distributing sandbags to residents on the same day.
