Hunan Tourism Delegation Tours North America: Changsha Tells 'Three Stories' in Los Angeles, Hunan Booth at IMEX America in Las Vegas

In mid-October, a cultural and tourism delegation from China's Hunan Province toured North America to promote travel to Hunan, with stops in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Vancouver, Canada.
In Los Angeles, the director of Changsha's municipal culture and tourism bureau presented the city through 'three stories': Yale graduates who came to Changsha in 1906 to found Yali School and later joined Hunan in establishing Xiangya Hospital — a century of educational and medical exchange; General Claire Chennault's Flying Tigers fighting alongside Chinese forces in World War II, retold in a 2024 photo exhibition at the Changsha Museum; and the presenter's own government-sponsored training trip to the United States 20 years ago, from which he drew the lesson that exchanges between civilizations rest on mutual respect and win-win cooperation.
The presentation also introduced the Mawangdui Han tombs and the Lady Xin Zhui mummy, Yuelu Academy, the Tongguan Kiln, Orange Isle and the Xiang River nightscape, Hunan TV programming, and Changsha's nightlife and food, and invited American tourists to visit. The full text of the presentation was published by Hunan Daily on October 12.
From October 13 to 15, IMEX America, an international exhibition for meetings, incentives and travel, opened in Las Vegas, where China exhibited under its national tourism image 'Nihao! China.' Cultural and tourism departments and enterprises from Beijing, Hunan, Shaanxi, Jiangsu, Sichuan and Guangxi set up booths, and Hunan's tourism resources were promoted at the show. Wu Dawei, director of the China National Tourist Office in Los Angeles, introduced China's inbound-tourism offerings during the event.
According to a video released by the event organizers, the delegation also held a 'Sanxiang Sishui · Meet Hunan' tourism promotion event in Vancouver, Canada, during the trip.
