Foxconn Industrial Internet and Luxshare Face U.S. Section 337 Probe Over Data-Center Power Patent

The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) voted on October 9 to institute a Section 337 investigation into certain data-center vertical power delivery systems and components, case No. 337-TA-1526, based on a complaint filed September 8 by Vicor Corporation alleging infringement of U.S. Patent No. 10,903,734 and seeking a limited exclusion order and cease-and-desist orders.
Named respondents include Luxshare Precision's U.S. unit, Hongbai Technology (a Foxconn affiliate) in the U.S., Delta Electronics Americas, Quanta Computer's U.S. arm, Infineon Technologies Americas, and China's Luxshare Precision Industry (002475.SZ). Both Chinese groups said there would be no material impact: Luxshare said the product tied to the patent is still in customer validation and has not shipped; Foxconn Industrial Internet (601138.SH) said preliminary assessment shows no material effect on operations or finances. Section 337 cases under the Tariff Act of 1930 can result in exclusion of products from the U.S. market and are widely seen as a fast, high-stakes trade remedy. FII's first-half 2026 revenue reached RMB 557.86 billion with net profit of RMB 17.85 billion, both records. (Sources: National Business Daily, China Fund News)
