Houston is a city in Harris County, Texas. The Houston Texans defeated the Tennessee Titans 26-3 on Sunday, October 11, in Week 5 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, earning their first win of the 2026 season (1-4).

Quarterback C.J. Stroud went 26-of-34 for 261 yards with one touchdown pass (a 9-yarder to Jaylin Noel in the fourth quarter) and a 2-yard rushing touchdown in the third. Stroud has six touchdown passes and zero interceptions through five games. Kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn hit four field goals, including a 53-yarder before halftime.

The defense carried the day with four sacks — three by Will Anderson Jr. — and held Tennessee to a season-low 187 total yards. Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward was 23-of-36 for 170 yards with one interception and three sacks; Tennessee was held scoreless after an opening-drive field goal and fell to 0-5.

Head coach DeMeco Ryans took over defensive playcalling this week — the same move that sparked last season's turnaround, when Houston's first win also came against the Titans.

The bigger news came after the game. A smiling Ryans told reporters: “You guys want to know, huh? Yes, we traded for Marvin Harrison. See ya.” Houston acquired wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. from the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for 2027 second- and sixth-round draft picks, also receiving a 2027 seventh-rounder (per ESPN's Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport).

The 24-year-old Harrison had five catches for 85 yards and one touchdown in Arizona's first four games; he caught 62 passes for 885 yards and eight TDs as a rookie in 2024 and 41 for 608 yards and four TDs in 2025. He reunites in Houston with college teammate Stroud from Ohio State. “I think he brings a dynamic playmaker, somebody who runs great routes,” Stroud said. “Probably the hardest worker I've been around in my life.”

Next up: the Texans face the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium in London. (Sources: Reuters, USA Today)
