Gov. Beshear and First Lady Help Distribute 34,000-Pound Food Donation to Fight Hunger in Kentucky

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Governor Andy Beshear and First Lady Britainy Beshear helped distribute a 34,000-pound food donation aimed at fighting hunger in Kentucky, the Governor's office announced.
The Governor's office said food insecurity remains a real hardship for many Kentucky families, and that the administration continues to work with food banks and community organizations to move donated supplies to the local level. A donation of that size typically translates into tens of thousands of meals under standard food-bank conversion measures.
Beshear has frequently joined disaster-relief and food-distribution efforts during his tenure. The Governor's office urged residents in need to check with their local food banks for distribution sites and schedules.
