Missouri Expands Dyed Diesel Waiver to All Motor Vehicles, Extends Ag Hauling Weight Limits

Monday, October 12, 2026 · States · GSM News

Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe signed Executive Order 26-20 on Oct. 9, expanding the previous week's Executive Order 26-19 to allow all motor vehicles operating for any purpose to use dyed diesel on highways. Dyed diesel is red-dyed, tax-exempt farm diesel that Missouri law had previously barred from public roads.

Kehoe said the move aligns state-level regulatory relief with President Trump's Diesel Emergency Tax Relief executive order. "Today's action brings clarity to the farmers and truckers working hard to move goods and keep our economy running. Lowering transportation costs across the supply chain means everyday savings for every Missouri family, business and consumer."

The order suspends state administrative, civil and criminal penalties for covered vehicles and bars any state agency or law enforcement officer from penalizing those owners or operators. It also extends the temporarily raised agricultural hauling weight limits from Order 26-19. The entire order takes effect immediately and runs through Dec. 31, 2026.
