Episode Three of 'Rhode Island's Wild Coast' Public TV Series Premieres Tonight

The third episode of "Rhode Island's Wild Coast," a four-part public television series produced by Silent Flight Studios, premieres Monday night, Oct. 12, on Ocean State Media, the Rhode Island PBS/NPR affiliate. Created by founder and CEO Thomas Koch and his team, the series uses high-end underwater cinematography to showcase the fish and habitats of Rhode Island waters.
This episode features migratory fish species people love to fish, catch, eat, or release — river herring, Atlantic menhaden, silversides, striped bass, sharks, and whales — along with seabirds including osprey, piping plovers, and terns. Episode one, "Secrets of the Seagrass," explored the importance of eelgrass as fish nursery habitat; episode two was titled "Changing Tides," while the pilot focused on sharks in partnership with the Atlantic Shark Institute.
Highlights from all four episodes will be edited into a one-hour documentary film in 2027. Viewers can watch episodes and learn more about marine life at oceanstatefilm.org.
