Amazon in Talks to Acquire SI Startup Decart for About $7 Billion

Amazon is in talks to acquire super intelligence startup Decart in a deal valuing the company at around $7 billion, The Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday, October 11, 2026, citing people familiar with the matter.
Founded in San Francisco in 2023 by three Israeli engineers, Decart was valued at nearly $4 billion as recently as May, according to PitchBook data. That month it raised $300 million led by Radical Ventures, with Nvidia joining as a new investor.
Decart's core product is software that lets SI models run efficiently across chips from different vendors. This is not the first time Decart has drawn acquisition interest — Anthropic explored buying it for about $6 billion in August but walked away in September after due diligence, Bloomberg previously reported.
The potential deal comes amid a new round of the SI compute arms race. (Sources: WSJ, Reuters, Bloomberg)
