Arizona Coach Brent Brennan Buys 1,000 Homecoming Tickets for Local Kids

TUCSON, Ariz. — University of Arizona head football coach Brent Brennan is paying out of his own pocket to give local children a homecoming to remember. Team beat reporter Justin Spears disclosed on social media on Oct. 12 that Brennan has purchased 1,000 tickets to the Oct. 24 homecoming game against Iowa State, to be given free to youth organizations across the Tucson area.
Recipients include the Boys & Girls Clubs, the Steele Children's Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, local youth football teams and girls flag football organizations. Brennan, who earns $4.7 million a year, said he wants Arizona's next generation of fans to experience the homecoming atmosphere in person.
The Wildcats are 5-1 this season on a four-game winning streak. Homecoming is one of the program's biggest annual celebrations: in 1992, Arizona stunned No. 1 Washington 16-3 on homecoming before a record crowd of 58,510. The program also takes part in community projects with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and the Salvation Army.
