Lockheed Martin Space to Expand in Colorado, Adding Up to 1,250 Jobs Over Four Years

DENVER — Lockheed Martin's Space division will expand operations at its existing facilities in Douglas County and Jefferson County, Colorado, bringing up to 1,250 good-paying jobs to the state over the next four years, Gov. Jared Polis announced. The expansion by the global security, defense and aerospace contractor was shared at the Site Selector Feedback Dinner at the 2026 Site Selection Conference on Oct. 8.
"Colorado is a national leader in aerospace innovation and Lockheed Martin's investment delivers up to 1,250 good-paying jobs for Coloradans over the next four years," Polis said. Lt. Gov. Dianne Primavera said the state's investments in education, workforce development and innovation are being turned into career opportunities across civil, commercial and national security space by partners in the state.
Lockheed Martin researches, designs, develops and manufactures advanced technology systems, products and services, and the expanded Colorado presence will support delivery of cost-competitive solutions for customers' evolving needs. "Our growth is a direct reflection of the vibrant ecosystem here in Colorado," said Kate Watts, the company's vice president of Space Strategy & Business Development.
