Chino Marks World Homeless Day by Highlighting Outreach Program, Quality-of-Life Team and School District HOPE Partnership

Tuesday, October 13, 2026 · City · GSM News

Chino is a city in San Bernardino County, California. The City of Chino on Oct. 12 highlighted its three-way collaboration for helping people experiencing homelessness, marking World Homeless Day (Oct. 10): the City's Homeless Outreach Program, the Police Department's Quality-of-Life Team, and the Chino Valley Unified School District's (CVUSD) HOPE Program.

According to the City, the Quality-of-Life Team is a collaborative effort between the Chino Police Department, nonprofit and faith-based organizations, case management staff, and medical and mental health facilities, and the City has added two Homeless Outreach Coordinators. When officers or coordinators encounter homeless individuals, the team intervenes quickly by arranging emergency shelter, medical or mental health resources, counseling and other needed services, and also provides prevention activities for individuals and families at risk of homelessness. The school district's HOPE Program supports students and families experiencing homelessness. Residents can find housing and assistance resources on the City's website.
