Long Beach Offers Free Waste-Less Workshops on Composting and Reducing Waste at Home
Long Beach is a city in Los Angeles County, California. InsideLB, the City of Long Beach's news site, published an item on October 13, 2026, introducing free waste-reduction workshops the city offers residents, covering household waste reduction, proper recycling and composting.
According to the City's LB Recycles workshops page, the no-cost sessions run on an ongoing basis and include topics such as Learn to Compost, held at a demonstration garden and covering backyard and worm composting; DIY Green & Safe Cleaning, on making non-toxic cleaning supplies; Recycle Right LB, on the city's curbside recycling program; and Reduce Waste at Home sessions in kitchen and holiday editions. Residents may request a workshop presented in Spanish by emailing [email protected].
Workshop schedules and registration information are posted on the LB Recycles workshops page at longbeach.gov, where residents can also sign up for the monthly EcoGuide e-newsletter for future dates.
