City of Industry: BIG 4 Cities Announce New Partnership, Second Annual Summit Set for 2027

CITY OF INDUSTRY — City of Industry is a city in Los Angeles County, California. The BIG 4, an alliance of the four industrial cities of Commerce, Industry, Santa Fe Springs and Vernon, announced on October 12, 2026 a new partnership with the Supply Chain Federation, a national goods-movement business and labor advocacy organization, and CREDA SoCal, a commercial real estate organization formerly known as NAIOP SoCal with more than 1,200 members.

According to the announcement, the partnership's first major initiative will be the second annual BIG 4 Summit in 2027, with registration details to be released in the coming months. The partners also plan to work together on research, education and programming, and to engage organizations including the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC).

The BIG 4 was formed in October 2025. In its first year, the alliance rolled out business incentives, held its inaugural summit, and advocated for Senate Bill 1274 (SB 1274), which was signed into law and created a statutory definition of an 'industrial city.' The alliance's first joint deal helped 80-year-old food manufacturer Juanita's Foods keep its manufacturing in Southern California; the company acquired a facility in Santa Fe Springs.

Together, the four cities hold about 250 million square feet of industrial space — roughly a quarter of Los Angeles County's total — on less than 1 percent of the county's land. They are home to about 5,000 businesses and a workforce of 200,000, generate more than $32 billion in annual output and more than $283 million in aggregate tax revenue; about three-quarters of the jobs do not require a four-year degree.

The inaugural BIG 4 Summit took place in April 2026 at the Clarke Estate in Santa Fe Springs and covered topics including the WAIRE Program and Indirect Source Rules. A Pepperdine University and Beacon Economics study cited in the announcement found that Southern California's industrial ecosystem supports about 1.5 million jobs and roughly one of every nine dollars of regional GDP.
