Boo at the L.A. Zoo Returns for Two Weekends Starting October 24 With Trick-or-Treat Stations and Pumpkin Fun

Los Angeles is a city in Los Angeles County, California. The Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens has announced that its annual Halloween celebration, Boo at the L.A. Zoo, will take place over two weekends — Saturday and Sunday, October 24-25, and October 31-November 1. The event is free with paid zoo admission or an active L.A. Zoo membership, and costumes are encouraged.
Highlights include six trick-or-treat stations presented by MARS, open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day along the route from the Children's Zoo to Treetops Terrace; visitors should bring their own treat bags, and candy is available while supplies last. Halloween Headquarters at Treetops Terrace will offer pumpkin painting (for an additional fee) and free partner programming — Give Kids Art on October 24 and the Los Angeles Public Library on October 25 — while the Bob Baker Marionette Theater performs live at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on October 31.
The four event days also feature special keeper talks, pumpkin animal-enrichment sessions and themed photo opportunities. At the Conservation Expo in the Rose Garden near the flamingo habitat, the zoo and its conservation partners will share information about bat conservation, vulture and condor conservation, and more. A new inflatable corn maze joins this year's lineup.
The Los Angeles Zoo is located in Griffith Park at 5333 Zoo Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90027. Full details are on the Boo at the L.A. Zoo 2026 page at lazoo.org.
