Texans Make It Official: Marvin Harrison Jr. Arrives in Blockbuster Trade, Reunites with Stroud

Houston is a city in Harris County, Texas. The Houston Texans on Monday night, Oct. 12, officially announced a blockbuster trade, acquiring star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. and a 2027 seventh-round pick from the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for Houston's 2027 second-round and sixth-round picks. The team confirmed the deal through official channels after reports surfaced earlier in the day.

Harrison Jr., the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and the son of Hall of Fame receiver Marvin Harrison Sr., spent two seasons as a college teammate of Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud at Ohio State, where both earned All-American honors in 2021 and 2022. The trade reunites one of college football's most productive duos in Houston.

Head coach DeMeco Ryans said in a statement that Harrison is a game-changing player whose arrival immediately elevates the offense. Stroud welcomed his former teammate, saying their chemistry would not need to be rebuilt.

The announcement came a day after the Texans routed the Tennessee Titans 26-3 at home. In a crowded AFC South race, the move signals an all-in push this season. Harrison is expected to join practice this week and could make his Texans debut in the next game.
