Indiana Launches Work-Based Learning Digital Resource Hub to Connect Students, Schools and Employers

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Gov. Mike Braun announced on Oct. 6 the launch of a Work-Based Learning Digital Resource Hub to expand career-connected learning opportunities for the state's K-12 students. Built through a partnership between the Indiana Commission for Higher Education, the Indiana Department of Education and Ascend Indiana, the hub is a collection of practical tools to help schools, employers and regional partners implement high-quality work-based learning aligned with Indiana's new high school diploma.
The new diploma requirements give students more flexibility to personalize their journey and earn readiness seals aligned with their goals — whether they plan to attend college, go straight into a career or serve in the military. Based on feedback from higher education, employers and the military, the seals prioritize knowledge, skills and experiences through rigorous coursework, work-based learning and credentials of value.
"Indiana is committed to making sure every student graduates ready for the opportunities ahead, and that means connecting learning in the classroom to real experiences in the workplace," Braun said. He said the hub gives schools and employers the tools to bring career-connected learning to life and helps students discover their strengths and build professional networks.
The hub's launch is supported by a $100,000 state grant for statewide implementation.
