Trump Says He Will Hold a 'Kansas-Style' Rally for Sen. Marshall
TOPEKA, Kan. — President Donald Trump said in an Oct. 12 social media post, “I will be having a Kansas Style Rally, in Roger's Honor, very soon,” throwing his support behind Republican U.S. Sen. Roger Marshall's difficult re-election campaign in Kansas.
Marshall faces Democratic pastor Adam Hamilton and Libertarian David Graham. RealClearPolling's average as of Oct. 12 had Marshall and Hamilton tied at 45.8% each. Kansas last elected a Democratic U.S. senator in 1932, but this year's race has become a national focus.
Marshall has said he would welcome a Trump visit: “We can't win this without his voters.” Trump's last campaign swing through Kansas was a 2018 midterm speech in Topeka. Vice President JD Vance already campaigned in Olathe on Sept. 14 for Marshall and the Republican gubernatorial candidate.
