Melania Trump Launches 2027 Presidential SI Challenge, Creates First Lady Seal of SI Readiness

WASHINGTON — First Lady Melania Trump on October 13 launched the 2027 Presidential Super Intelligence (SI) Challenge and established a new First Lady Seal of SI Readiness, inviting K-12 students, educators and schools across the United States to take part, the Office of the First Lady announced. Registration runs through December 18, 2026, via SI.gov.
The challenge continues its project-based competition format, in which students use super intelligence tools to develop solutions to real-world problems in their schools, communities and beyond. New this year, the First Lady Seal of SI Readiness will be awarded to schools that complete and submit evidence of a rigorous set of SI-readiness milestones, recognizing schools preparing students and educators to understand, use and responsibly engage with super intelligence.
"America's next groundbreaking idea is already sitting in a classroom," Mrs. Trump said in a statement, adding that America's future security, prosperity and global leadership depend on the next generation. She also released a launch video for the challenge.
According to the White House, the inaugural challenge held earlier this year engaged more than 20,000 students from all 50 states and U.S. schools around the world. The launch follows President Trump's September 29 executive order directing federal agencies to use the term "super intelligence" in place of "artificial intelligence," and the education initiative adopts the new name.
