San Diego State Coach Hints at QB Change Ahead of Fresno State Clash
San Diego is a city in San Diego County, California. San Diego State head coach Sean Lewis hinted at his regular Monday press conference that a change could be coming at quarterback for the Aztecs. While discussing injuries, Lewis volunteered an update on redshirt freshman Stone Saunders: 'Stone is recovering well, and as for how we use him, we'll see.' Saunders fractured his collarbone in the season opener and has returned to practice in pads, but still needs final clearance to play.
The current starting quarterback is Denegal, with Trudeau also having seen action as a backup. Asked whether he was losing patience with his starter, Lewis declined to answer directly, saying only that 'everything at every position is on the table' and that the final decision would depend on this week's practices. The Aztecs host Fresno State at home this weekend. 'Change for the sake of change, if it doesn't move us closer to winning, isn't the right decision,' Lewis stressed. The quarterback question will be the biggest storyline of the week's practices.
